Authentication Server

If you have more than a handful of users you need a way of managing user settings, preferences, and files.  An authentication server centrally manages user accounts and security, and makes having multiple users using multiple computers easy.

For authentication, we will install Microsoft's Active Directory, running on top of Microsoft Windows Server or, depending on the needs of the client, we will install Samba, running on Linux.

Samba File Server

Our central file server is a high-security server, based on open source technologies that integrate fully with Active Directory. This file server stores all of your data in a central location that you can access from any authenticated computer inside the office.  The stored information, when combined with our off-site backup server, is backed up nightly, providing maximum security and performance with a minimum of overhead and cost.

At your request we can make parts of your file server accessible to any web browser (using your login and password).  This allows you and your employees to easily and securely access files from any location from any Internet connection.
